1.1 Activity 8 - Create A Haiku Message

I created a SMS Japanese haiku poem, I sent it to Charlotte via IM and Email. This is a picture of them IM conversation... It consisted of -

"how r u 2day
r u njoyn 6th frm
c u 2moro"

In normal grammatical English it was translated as

"How are you today

are you enjoying Sixth Form
See you tomorrow"

Using SMS:

The puropse of SMS is to communicate a message to others using short hand language. As an SMS has a limited character space. You are able to send a text message and it will be revieved in a short amount of time, however if you or the reciever does not have signal the message would not be sent or recieved. As well as sending a message you are able to send images, videos and sound files. However sending a normal message and any of these other mulitmedia costs money.

Using IM:
The purpose of using IM is to have an instant conversation with another contact. You are able to write a message and send it to someone and it will be recieved almost immediatley. You are also able to send images, videos, files and sound... But it is not as fast as sending multimedia via Email. If the person is not online you are not able to communicate with them, whereas in email you are able to send a message and it will be stored in the other persons Inbox.

Using Email:

The purpose of using Email send a message through the internet, this person does not have to be logged on to their own computer but they can still recieve the message - it will be stored in their inbox. On email you are able to send images, documents, videos and sound files. However there may be a limit on the size and amount of files you can send at any one time. Using email does not cost anything compared to SMS. Using email you can send messages to more than one person.
